Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

My name is Rusty and I am waiting anxiously for you to adopt me. I'm a young Collie Great Pyrenees mix of about nine months old. I was found wandering around on a very busy highway. Thankfully someone cared enough to pick me up. And the rest is history as they say. I'm kind of a big fuzzy teddy bear. I love to have someone pet me and I will lay my head in your lap so you can. But, since I am a young boy who really does like to play I will need an in-home dog buddy to play with. And some good kibble. I LOVE to eat! So what are you waiting for? You need to start filling out an application so you can meet me. Applications can be ... (Read More)found at www.texascollierescue.org. Can't wait to hear from you! Rusty Rusty is a gorgeous dog. Just a youngster. And he was found going back and forth over a busy highway. We were notified of him and took him into rescue. He has beautiful golden eyes and great coloring. His pictures don't do him justice. He is a big boy and loves attention. Where he came from he wasn't probably getting much. He likes to lay his head in your lap or come and stand really close to you. He just wants to be near someone. But he is young and will need a playmate. Rusty is ready to go at any time. (Less)

Animal ID: 385Big Rudy (male)

Great Pyrenees Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

RED ALERT!!! My name is Big Rudy and I am ready for adoption! I am a very friendly Collie/Great Pyrenees mix. And I would love to be your next family member and playmate for any other canine kids you might have. Let me tell you about me. My beginnings weren't too great. I was living in a truck yard around San Antonio, Texas. And the truck yard was moving. Some very nice people brought me to the rescue in Houston from the other side of San Antonio. They didn't want to send me to a shelter. And I'm very thankful they didn't. Those places are not very good for us. So now life is so much better, but I would love to have my own home and ... (Read More)family. I love to run and play a lot. Little dogs, big dogs, it doesn't matter. I just like to play and always have a smile on my face since life is better than it was. Let's meet! Go to www.texascollierescue.org and fill out an application so we can get together. Can't Wait!! Big Rudy Big Rudy is a great dog. He's friendly, loves to play, and is an affectionate boy. And a really handsome guy with big golden eyes. But, he does need a playmate. He will play with any of the dogs, big or little. And he loves to run. As Rudy told you he was living in a truck yard that was moving. One of the employees did not want to take him to a shelter. Since the San Antonio shelter would put him down if not adopted. Her and her husband drove him to us which says a lot about them since it was not a short drive. You never would have known he had been living outside. Rudy has not had an accident in the house since he's been here. He settled in pretty quick. So he is house-trained and crate-trained and ready for his new home. Go to our website www.texascollierescue .org and fill out an application if you are interested in Big Rudy. (Less)

Animal ID: 389Winter (male)

German Shorthaired Pointer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Winter is an 8 month old pointer mix, about 35 lbs, who came to rescue on his 'kill' date, having been at a shelter in a cage for several months. We can't figure out why this sweet and beautiful little boy was not adopted before this. He is very affectionate, he loves people and is very appreciative of attention and affection. He also loves other dogs, but does not do as well with cats. Winter would do best in a home with a big yard to run in and at least one other dog for company as he does not like to be alone. He is smart and eager to please. He is house trained and crate trained. He is very high energy, but he is not an escape ... Animal ID: 362Arnie (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi! My name is Arnie. I came to Texas Collie and Sheltie Rescue by way of a shelter. They were told I was a Collie mix and were kind enough to take me in. But, I have to be honest I'm more of a Border Collie mix. Just a young boy of about a yearČ'Ř| full of energy and playfulness. But I am a special boy. I have a hereditary disease called color dilution alopecia. Don't be scared! It just means I have a little bit less hair in some places than I do I do in others. The up side is I am a very friendly guy who loves attention and more importantly tummy rubs! Those are my absolute favorite! Other dogs and humans like me. So no problems ... (Read More)there. I'm also house-trained and crate-trained. And I've been working on learning how to sit. I would love to be the only dog in your family getting all the attention, but if you have an in-house pup I would like that too. I'm available to meet once you fill out an application at www.texascollierescue.org. Give me the chance and I will be your constant and faithful companion! Hope to hear from you soon! Arnie Arnie is a sweet, sweet boy that just wants to be loved and petted. He does have color dilution alopecia which is also called color mutant alopecia. It does not affect all of the hair on his body. It is a hereditary disease of which there is no cure. His hair is sparse in some places on his torso and his head. He is young and full of energy and would need to be kept active. But, he loves attention and probably has had very little of it so far in his young life. Please give this boy a chance. He deserves a loving forever home. (Less)

I'm Christi. You may have already met my sister Maggie who is posted here too. If not, let me give you an update. We were only 6 months old when we started looking for our forever home. Both of us are a year old now. I'm the more outgoing of the two of us and like a good sister I have to watch out for Maggie. We're both really sweet girls who need a forever home together.
